BAYSIDE TAVERN

SINCE 1975

Update: In 2022 the exterior was completely redone to match the building’s historic roots. Article Here.

A Fish Creek institution since 1975 when mom, dad and the six MacDonald kids moved to Fish Creek and opened the Bayside Tavern. It’s still run by the family and is known for “Smilen” Bob’s Barroom Chili,  made Cincinnati-style. (We LOVE it!)  Served over spaghetti and beans with “the works” (onions, sour cream, cheddar cheese) it’s just perfect. You’ll find a mix of locals and tourists enjoying burgers, fries, chili and classic Wisconsin drinks – including their famous signature Bayside “Flaming” Coffee.

During warmer months, enjoy the waterview outdoor dining area located behind the tavern.

Insider info: The musician Pat MacDonald had a #1 hit with “The Future’s So Bright I Gotta Wear Shades” and is one of the six MacDonald “kids”.  He owns Sturgeon Bay’s “Holiday Music Motel” and started the annual “Steel Bridge Festival” that led the charge to save Sturgeon Bay’s historic steel bridge.
