Welcoming the public since 1896 and run by the same family since 1972 (daughter Meredith is now at the reigns), this is The Spot to have breakfast. It’s everything you want from a Door County breakfast experience, and its popularity is proof.  The cherry stuffed French toast is an indulgent bomb, best enjoyed with some sort of savory side for balance. (We like it with sausage links). Not to be outdone, the daily coffee cake special is equally impressive in both size and flavor wallop. If your breakfast sweet tooth still isn’t satisfied, their fame expands further to the homemade cherry pie – thankfully, available to go.

For those who prefer a savory breakfast (something, frankly, that doesn’t come up much for us) Meredith suggests her favorite: the homemade corned beef hash cooked to order in butter until a crisp crust forms, then topped with eggs over easy and finished with a side of their house-baked Swedish Limpa toast.
