Their message: “This will not be the end of professional cooking for me, but my passion has moved into caring and spending more time with my daughter, husband, family and friends. It has been a tough decision, but it’s time to say goodbye. “
Heirloom Cafe & Provisions, located in the former Door County Brewing building, offers fresh healthy breakfast and lunch items constantly evolving, based on seasonally available produce from local farms and vendors.
BEST FOR: To-Go inspired picnic fare and healthy imaginative options (with a few decadent choices thrown in for good measure.)
Katie and Andy launched their cafe in 2018 and have been embraced by Door County’s epicurean class. They bring a mixed bag of delights to the table, borrowing from professional experiences in Chicago, Milwaukee and most recently Austin. You’ll find a nod to Texas in the form of a daily breakfast taco. Along their food journey they’ve also picked up a deep understanding of Vegan and Gluten-free preparations. The resulting cornucopia is one of mostly healthy, some Vegan, some GF, some indulgent and all very personal, flavorful, fresh and delicious.
Stay and dine in the bright stylishly cheery cafe or belly up to the deli case and order your delectables to-go.
INSIDER TIP #1: Stop in on your way from Egg Cottage to The Ridges for your picnic supplies – including a small but nice selection of wines.
INSIDER TIP #2: Look for their pop-up dinner evenings, where they partner with area vendors to create special dining experiences. (The recent La Cena dinners have a southern Mexico/Oaxacan influence.)
